Company Profile

Aurora Instruments Ltd., is a worldwide leader in the design and development of lab automation solutions for life science, environmental science, drug discovery/safety and chemical analysis research. We provide technologies and services which facilitate a higher sample throughput while improving quality, accuracy and precision. Aurora's product range includes automated liquid-handling equipment, atomic absorption spectrometers, atomic fluorescence spectrometers and microwave digestion systems, increasing the efficiency of sample management in a wide range of research applications. We are headquartered in Vancouver, BC, Canada, and have global sales, support, and service offices.

Since the debut of the patented Capacitively Coupled Plasma source at the 1991 Pittcon conference in Chicago, Aurora Instruments’ products have been the subject of numerous journal articles, product reviews and have been displayed on the covers of a number of publications including Spectroscopy.

Aurora Instruments’ products have many established, unique applications. One unique "element analysis" application is the analysis of phosphorous in nickel and cobalt powders using the AI 2200 Plasma Emission Spectrometer. A second is the determination of high temperature elements such as Si and Al using the AI 1200 Atomic Absorption Spectrometer’s spatially and temporally isothermal graphite furnace atomizer.

At Aurora Instruments it is a top priority that our users receive strong dependable customer support. That’s why we have assembled a team of application chemists and engineers to quickly and accurately assist you with method development, thus maximizing instrument performance and minimizing instrument down times.

Liquid Handling Systems

Aurora Instruments is dedicated to providing automated liquid handling systems for scientists in a variety of research fields, including: pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, agriculture, food science, and forensics. Our VERSA Series of liquid handling systems enables greater efficiency and higher data quality, decreases variability from repetitive bench work, and reduces reagent costs.

The VERSA Series is a group of highly customizable, integratable, and scaleable liquid handling systems for automating many laboratory processes. The VERSA Series includes the VERSA 100, VERSA 1000, VERSA 2000 and VERSA 3000 workstations and can automate multiple genomic, proteomic, drug discovery, and analytical applications. These instruments can be customized to perform diverse functions including efficient parallel dilution, IC50 and assay preparation, plate reformatting, and hit picking. The customizability, adaptability and simplicity of use of the VERSA series make it an excellent choice for varied liquid handling applications. In addition to these customizable instruments, the VERSA Series also contains a number of dedicated systems, including: VERSA Mini PCR Setup Workstation, VERSA Mini Carousel PCR Setup Workstation, VERSA Mini NAP/PCR Setup Workstation, VERSA Mini Liquid-liquid Extraction Workstation, VERSA Spot Printing Workstation, VERSA Gene Workstation, VERSA Cap Piercing Workstation, VERSA ELISA Workstation, VERSA NGLP Workstation and VERSA 1100 Workstation.

Analytical Chemistry

We are dedicated to the design of analytical instruments to provide smart laboratory solutions. We specialize in elemental analysis equipment including Atomic Absorption Spectrometers (AAS), Atomic Fluorescence Spectrometers (AFS), UV & Visible Spectrophotometers and a variety of standard & customized OEM products. We also offer Microwave Digestion Systems for sample preparation.
